The Jubilee Year 2033, also called the Holy Year of Redemption, will mark the 2,000th anniversary of Jesus Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection and will be celebrated with global spiritual observances. Significance of Jubilee 2033 The year 2033 is designated as an Extraordinary Jubilee, commemorating the 2,000th anniversary of the Redemption, which includes Jesus’ Passion, Death, and Resurrection, as well as the founding of the Catholic Church when Jesus entrusted Peter and the Apostles with the authority to baptize, forgive sins, and celebrate the Eucharist (Matthew 16:18-19; 28:18-20)
